As our nation reflects on and recovers from COVID, Higher Achievement is honored to offer a learning opportunity to our community. NPR Education reporter Anya Kamenetz, author of The Stolen Year, will join us for a virtual discussion of her book on January 4th at 1 p.m. After her remarks, a panel of respondents will ask questions and offer context about the education and out-of-school time sector. We will also offer an opportunity for guests to ask questions of the author and respondents.

Featured Author: Anya Kamenetz

Journalist and author Anya Kamenetz is a futurist with a passion for the complexities of how we learn, work, and live in a rapidly changing world.

An award-winning correspondent at NPR coordinating education coverage online and on-air, she previously covered technology, innovation, sustainability, and social entrepreneurship for Fast Company. Her reporting has appeared in The Guardian, New York Magazine, The New York Times, Oprah’s “O” Magazine, Slate, The Village Voice, WIRED, The Washington Post, and many others.

Her book The Stolen Year is an unflinching look at the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on children. She’s covered learning, technology and educational transformation for two decades and in five books with a sense of empathy and a sense of humor.
