DC Scholars Become Entrepreneurs

In DC, Higher Achievement scholars participated in Lemonade Day, an entrepreneurship seminar hosted by George Washington University that culminates in scholars running lemonade stands across the city on April 28th.  During the four weeks leading up to Lemonade Day, GW students mentored scholars in financial literacy and helped them design a lemonade business model.

Scholars learned how to market their product and create appealing stands.

Scholars sold lemonade in the Eastern Market, Navy Yard, and Petworth neighborhoods of Washington, DC.

In total, the Higher Achievement scholars sold over $1,000 worth of lemonade and snacks!

Thank you to the GW Lemonade Day mentors and volunteers for your enthusiasm and dedication.
