“I want to send a special thanks to my mentor, Mr. Howard. Thanks to his kind words of encouragement and motivation, I have maintained a 4.0 throughout this year. I have grown to love people in this program as if they were my family.”
– Christopher, 2017 Higher Achievement graduate and Holla Award winner
This year’s Afterschool Academy has come to a close! Last Wednesday, Baltimore’s 8th grade scholars took a huge step forward, graduating from Higher Achievement and officially beginning the transition to high school. Star mentors, parents, and program partners were also awarded their own Green Apple Awards, as tokens of gratitude for their incredible dedication to Higher Achievement. The ceremony was a beautiful example of the Higher Achievement family that Christopher describes all coming together to celebrate the hard work and commitment of our scholars, mentors, and staff.
Check out the photo album on Facebook for more photos, and join us in congratulating all those recognized on Wednesday night!
