There’s growing research that shows the positive impact of afterschool and summer programs on young people, especially in high poverty communities.
In the Richmond area, the non-profit Higher Achievement operates year-round out-of school programming. For Learning Curve, WCVE’s Catherine Komp stopped by one center to find out more. She spoke with Tyren Frazier, Executive Director of Higher Achievement Richmond; Ronee Davis, Binford Center Director; and Millena Brown, a 6th grade scholar in the program.
