The High School Admissions Fair is your change to meet representatives from DCPS Specialized High Schools, DC Public Charter High Schools, and Parochial and Independent Private Schools. You will also be able to attend workshops to learn about what you and your child need to do now in order to successfully complete the high school admissions process. Looking for Two Summer VISTA Associates - Alumni Outreach and Outreach CoordinatorHigher Achievement is currently hiring Americorps VISTA Summer Associates to assist with our Alumni Support and Outreach efforts. Member Duties : Summer Associates will teach during a six-week transitional institute designed to prepare students for high school. Instruction will be experiential and interactive in an effort to maximize student learning and to offer an invaluable and rewarding hands-on learning experience; Student learning will be supported through a one to eight teacher-student ratio. SA's will provide instruction in one of the areas mentioned. In addition to direct service teaching and assistance, Summer Associates may provide assistance and support for the Summer Institute in the following areas: 1. Offer additional program development through ideas and feedback 2. Identify and recruit students 3. Develop new/current lesson plans 4. Recruit and train teachers and staff 5. Identify Career Day Hosts and Volunteers 6. Assist with funding, space and other resources 7. Provide incentives and rewards for students and staff 8. Outreach to alumni corps.
