November 19, 2006 - Higher Achievement was featured on the front page of the Washington Post business section in an article about local philanthropy. Two supporters, Leland Boyle and Maria Fiore, explained their reasons for giving to Higher Achievement. The organization is one of 15 agencies profiled in the Community Foundation’s “Spirit of Giving” guide, chosen for its outstanding program to challenge motivated middle school students.
Mentor Matthew Heine and scholars Teresita Galarce, Jose Vasquez, Brian Mustafa and Brandon Mustafa were featured in photographs at the Ward 1 Achievement Center in Columbia Heights.
